HILLARY VOWS TO FIGHT IF INDICTED, WILL NOT ASK FOR PARDON
First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton has privately vowed to fight -- and to fight hard -- if
she is indicted by the Office of the Independent Counsel, it will be revealed on Monday.
"When I spoke to her in 1997 about whether she would take a pardon if her husband
offered it, she was adamant that she would turn one down," former Clinton adviser
Dick Morris writes in his weekly NEW YORK POST column.
The independent counsel "wouldn't dare indict me," the first lady reportedly
told Morris. "But, if he plays it like that, if he does that, I wouldn't take a
pardon. I won't let Bill pardon me. I'll go into court and beat him and I wont be cheated
of that opportunity by a pardon."
Morris writes: "As Independent Counsel Ray moves closer to a possible indictment and
delivers increasingly stinging reports criticizing both Clintons on the Travel Office,
Whitewater, and Lewinsky scandals, the issue of a possible pardon will loom larger."
HENCH adds: Yeah, right. She'll take the pardon, and blame it on a "Vast-right-wing-conspiracy" out to get me that forced me into accepting the pardon, ...."just like Bill did."
