Here are the first photos of the new Denali Tork Atak. We'll get some photos of Hench crashing it up soon.
Electric power creates incredible bottom-end snap from zero RPM. This is not Al Gore's enviro-bike, but a PERFECT application of electric power.
Traditional Trials package, with untraditional power plant. Some longtime traditions are gone. Most notably, the shifter. Oh, and the clutch,..... ah, and the kickstarter, gas tank, spark plug, piston, rings, air filter, carburetor, ignition and gearbox. New tradition? Three high-output batteries, a fancy rheostat for the throttle, and a kick-ass 275 amp electric motor. It makes horsepower comparable to a 125cc Trialer, but the torque off the bottom puts a 315 Cota to shame. Rear brake lever where the clutch lever would be on an internal combustion bike means there are no foot controls.
The swingarm pivot, primary belt drive, and final drive countersprocket all rotate on the same shaft, eliminating chain free play and the resulting driveline lash that normally reduces traction and control. Check out the trick Fox Vanilla RC shock and forged alloy rising rate suspension linkage!
Marzocchi Monster T forks with 40mm hard anodized aluminum tubes, a 20 mm tubular axle and adjustable preload, compression and rebound dampening. The tiny Hayes hydraulic disk brakes have no master cylinders, but have stopping power that belies their incredibly light weight. If they look a little weak to you, don't be fooled, and remember, the whole bike weighs less than 140 pounds, about 30 pounds lighter than the average trials bike.
This one is number 4 of only 5 in existence and is mine, but you can get it for a STEAL of a price, including the charger that plugs into a regular 110 outlet, a new set of Michelins Competition Trials tires, a spare set of batteries, AND the high-torque gearing setup.
